Morning
Here's to a happy and fulfilling new year for all. I've been out of the studio for a few weeks now, after a much needed vacation around the holidays. Back at home, it feels like it will be a bit longer before I can get back into the studio and get moving on the next firing.
In the meantime, there are always a hundred things to do to stay busy. I had to get up and moving down the mountain early today, which meant I caught this snapshot of the neighborhood in the morning light. This week I have the opportunity to take a glaze chemistry workshop down at the local glaze guru's studio. In this neck of the woods our local glaze guru happens to be noted author and all around good guy
Mr. John Britt. Folks have come from far and wide, from Alaska to right down the road in some cases, to pick his brain, to fill tons and tons of little plastic cups with tiny little portions of glazes, and to fire kilns and examine the results. There's even a brand new "experimental" soda kiln to play with.
If you've ever wanted to learn more about glazes, you can't find a better experience than a week with Mr. John Britt.
